OVERVIEW
This position is located in the Mental Health Program, Medical Department, Naval Expeditionary Combat Command, Gulf Port Mississippi.
You must be a US Citizen. Must be registered for Selective Service, see Legal & Regulatory Guidance. Suitable for Federal employment as determined by background investigation. Selectee may be required to successfully complete a probationary period. A Social Worker license is required. You must obtain and maintain a Secret security clearance.
Provide services to sailors, providing advice to their Commanders and briefs groups of service members and their families as subject matter expert on psychological stress injuries.
Develop and maintain professional standards of service, initiate and effect changes in methods that will promote efficient practice and coordinate embedded Mental Health Program (eMHP) services with other programs of service to the same group of clients.
Serve as a Licensed Independent Practitioner of mental health services, independently performing services such as: making independent decisions and account for recommendations for actions have serious impact on the life of the client served.
Act as liaison between chain of command and other programs of service to the same group of clients.

BASIC REQUIREMENTS: _ _ All applicants must meet the following basic requirements and specialized experience to qualify:
Degree: Master's Degree in Social Work (Must fulfill all of the requirements for the master's degree in social work in a school accredited by the Council on Social Work Education) and have as a Clinical Practitioner, at least two full years (104 weeks) of full-time clinical experience post licensure that include at least 2,000 hours post licensure (or 4,000 hours post graduate degree) in a clinical setting to qualify for the Clinical Practitioner.
S PECIALIZED
Experience: In order to qualify for this position, your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-11 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector in a medical care setting. Specialized experience is defined as experience that is typically in or related to the work of the position to be filled and has equipped you with the particular knowledge, skills, and abilities, to perform successfully the duties of the position. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following:
Experience planning and performing treatment for a wide range of psychological disorders and psychological aspects of physical disorders.
Experience collaborating with physicians and other medical professionals to develop and implement treatment and intervention programs.
Experience providing effective assessment and treatment of adjust to physical injuries and disorders of clients from occupations at high risk for Post Traumatic Stress Disorder and grief.
Experience using supported treatment for traumatic stress including models not requiring detailed recounting of traumatic experience of problems outside usual Diagnostic Statistical Manual diagnostic categories such as wear and tear injuries, anger/aggression and transitions such as deployment.
