You will:
Provide technical advice and assistance to regional and state staffs in development of water quality methods; Develop guidelines for applying state-of-the-science hydrologic data, analysis, and quality assurance techniques to water quality projects; Integrate data from Federal, State, and Non-Governmental Organizations on factors that affect the ecosystem, environmental quality and public health; Identify and build partnerships for expanded reach of water quality efforts. You will spend less than 25% of your work time on contracts, grants/cooperative agreements, and/or interagency agreements. In addition to the educational requirements, we are looking for at least one year of specialized experience related to this position as described below:
To qualify for the GS-13 level, you need to have at least one year of full-time experience equivalent to the GS-12 level defined as analyzing water quality data; providing technical assistance to various stakeholders; preparing written studies and reports on data results and findings.Your answers to the online assessment will be used to evaluate your competencies in the following areas:
1) Ability to provide assistance to various stakeholders on water quality programs and projects; 2) Knowledge of water quality programs and projects; 3) Skill in applying scientific methods to water quality projects; 4) Ability to develop guidelines for hydrologic data; 5) Ability to analyze data from governmental and Non-Governmental Organizations; 6) Knowledge of environmental statutes related to water quality; 7) Skill in building partnerships with various stakeholders. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional, philanthropic, religious, spiritual, community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
