MEDICAL TECHNICIAN (PHLEBOTOMY)
SELECTIVE PLACEMENT FACTOR:
This position has a selective placement factor needed in order to qualify. The actual Selective Placement Factor is a Basic Life Support (BLS) for Healthcare Providers certification. (Failure to submit this factor WILL result in an ineligible rating) Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the (GS-04) grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following:
Utilizing phlebotomy equipment such as syringes, butterfly needles, and vacutainer system; Performing proper venipuncture, finger-stick, and heel-stick procedures; Ensuring all specimen collected satisfy basic specimen labeling rules, collection, and transportation criteria; Utilizing the laboratory's specimen rejection and acceptance criteria when screening specimens.
